David Hockney Inspired Collage

Rebecca Genao, 2014

I created this David Hockney Inspired collage by finding a spot in the park that I thought look artsy and took multiple shots in different directions without moving form the spot that I was standing in. I then went into photo shop and layered them on top of each other to make one big picture of the main location.

To accomplish this photo I took several photos of Morgan. I copied the photos and transformed them into one photo to resemble her.

  1. My initial impression of this photo makes me think of a fly. Reason being because the eyes are very large compared to the rest of the photo. Something that I believe would of made this photo more interesting and more like a Hockney piece would be making more pieces of the photo. For example splitting up the mouth and chin. Although something I really enjoy is how even the lighting is for the photo. It looks as if you were very still and took them in one spot how we were supposed to. Great Execution. Something that also bothers be about the photo is the white parts at the bottom and left side of the photo. I don't know if they were meant to be this way but it kind of throws it off. If the white wasn't there I believe it would look more full and complete. Overall pretty good photo, you just have to work on a few things in Photoshop, maybe take a little more time as well.
